* It was dedicated by President Joseph Fielding Smith.
* It was the fifth temple built in Utah and the second along the Wasatch Front.
* It was the first temple dedicated in the state of Utah; the previous four were built prior to statehood.
* It has six ordinance rooms which allow sessions to begin every 20 minutes.
* The spire was originally gold in color but was painted white in 2002.
* It will undergo renovations beginning in late 2010 or early 2011 and will face east when it is finished.
